When Did You Realize You Were Old? - Day 15

OK So I am half way through my blog marathon!!! Woo hoo!!

I have always thought of myself as a young person. As a matter of fact I kinda snicker a little when I refer to myself as a woman. *Snicker* See, I just did it again.

So as you can imagine it is a little jarring when reality comes around and smacks me upside my head.

Case in point, I was working in the leasing office of an apartment complex. I worked with a couple of really young girls in their twenties.

One of these young girls was having man problems and was talking to me about it. I was giving her advice from my vast years of experience when afterward she says to me, "It's always nice to get advice from older women." I had to do a double take. I felt I got gut punched. That was the first time anyone has ever referred to me as an "older woman". Oy vey!

At my current job there is a 35 year old girl running around here yelling "Hi Miss Tee" every time she sees me. Miss Tee this and Miss Tee that.

Then if that wasn't bad enough, the other week I got my very own invitation to join AARP in the mail! I shit you not!

I guess I am just a broken hip away from that rocking chair after all. Can someone bring me my Geritol? Do people still take that? Geesh this is getting worse by the minute.

Stay tunned for tomorrow's post!

My Current TV Addiction - Day 14

I watch alot of TV. I mean A LOT! I love TV. It's my favorite pass time when I'm home doing nothing. What else am I supposed to do when I'm home alone, play solitaire? That's just pathetic. Play both positions on a checker board? Play Scrabble, Taboo or Spades by myself? Surf the Internet for porn sites all day? Come on people. It's not like it's a whole lot of options for a single person living alone. I read every now and then and I can not draw so TV is it.

Years ago I was addicted to Sex and the City. I would schedule my whole life around that show. 'Sure I can go to dinner. What time you wanna go? 8:00pm? Uh, that's not gonna work, SATC is on at that time.' I swear to you I was out on a date one time and I made the guy take me back home because it was time for SATC and I forgot to tape it.

Now my new addiction is the Real Housewives franchise. I like New York, New Jersey and Atlanta. I WILL NOT allow myself to get hooked on Beverly Hills so I refuse to watch. I told myself I wasn't going to watch DC but as the true addict I am I convinced myself that just a few peeks every now and then won't hurt and they of course completely sucked me in. That's like a crack addict saying just let me have one puff and I'll be good. Can't be done.

My First Car - Day 13

So my father was THE MAN! I loved that man. He was the hardest working person I think I had ever seen. As my brothers and I grew up and got our drivers licences my father bought each of us our first cars! Yeah pop!

My middle brother who is 3 years younger then me got his licence first therefore got his car first. He got a beautiful white Firebird. That car was gorgeous. My brother LOVED that car and was never seen out of it.

My youngest brother, when it was his turn, received a Grey Chevy Bronco. He hated it and refused to drive it. Spoiled ass.

When I got my licence I got a beauty of a car. One that everyone was jealous of and hated me for. I got a....

A Datsun B210. What about MY Firebird or MY Bronco? I got a freaking Datsun B210. But you know what? I loved that car and drove it EVERYWHERE.

You Should Have Just Kept Walking - Day 12

This blog marathon is actually fun. OK, so today I'm going to tell you all about a guy that obviously lost his mind.

A couple of weeks ago I was leaving a drug store and as I am getting into my car this guy in a Malibu pulls up next to me. I look over thinking to myself, 'Who the hell.....' He introduced himself and began talking. I obliged and reciprocated conversing with him. After a few minutes he gets out of his car and walks over to my driver side window to make talking a little easier.

As we continued to talk I remember thinking how full of himself he is. He loved talking about himself and how his life was in Pennsylvania and how well respected there he was and all this crap. I gave dude a mental eye roll with every sentence he spewed.

After we had spoken for what seemed like hours we exchanged phone numbers and I was on my way. Several days later I decide to call him and got his voicemail which I left a message on.

A couple days later he called back and we spoke for a good little while. The conversation was OK, no big deal then he told me on his own what I was going to ask him eventually. He told me he lived with a woman but he was not happy with her.

I had never heard that before. *side eye* I told him right then and there that that bit of news would definitely change our relationship. There would be none!

That whole situation really angered me a little. If you are not happy in your relationship, here's a concept, get out! You are a seemingly intelligent man with a job. What is stopping you from moving out and getting you own place and putting an end to what you would describe as a miserable relationship?

Don't approach me and bring potential drama to my life. I don't need that crap.

My Current Craving - Day 11

So lately I have been on a serious craving. If you follow me on twitter then some of you will remember me declaring my love for all things Chipotle. I am addicted to their Bowls.

Have you ever had one? I mean seriously. You can put what you want on it so it's just a big pile of heaven in a bowl.

I think I know what I want for lunch today....again.

Oooooh Baby! - Day 10

So I think I will take today to fill you in on a little secret. I have a celebrity crush. I've had the same crush for many years now and I strongly feel that if he knew I was alive he'd be all over me because I am so totally his type.

Yeah baby! Shemar Moore. I know he's arrogant and stuck on himself but dammit look at him! I think I could give him a pass...for about 4 months. That's when all that crap of his would get on my nerves and I'd have to kick him to the curb but until then, we'd have the best four months of our lives.

So You Just Gonna Run? - Day 9

OK, so the other day I was driving up a majorly busy road on my way to the gas station. I was driving on fumes so you better believe I was ecstatic to spot a station just a few feet away. I've been to this station many, many times so I knew exactly where it was.

Anyway, as I was applying my breaks to make a right turn into the parking lot a car from behind hit me in the rear! I couldn't believe it. Mind you I had my blinker on so there was no doubt of my intentions. I pull into the parking lot to get out of the way of the traffic behind me and the idiot keeps going! I was completely stunned that this fool would hit and run like that.

What was really great, however, was that there were witnesses to what happened. Two guys came to me and told me who it was and gave me a description of the car. It would have been easy for me to find this person because the car he was driving indicated he was on his was to the car dealership less then a mile up the same street.

I surveyed the damage and determined that there was absolutely no damage done to my car so I just dropped the whole thing because I thought I would have looked foolish making a big deal out of nothing really.

Then hours and days passed and the more I thought about it the more I felt I should have confronted the dweeb to let him know I could find him and that people had ratted him out so that he would realize for future reference that he could not hit and run because someone somewhere will always see what happened.

Next time this sort of thing happenes you better believe I and going to stop right where I am so the person won't have a chance to run.

Don't forget to stay tuned for tomorrow's post!
