Let's Have The Talk

How many of you watch The Talk? I've been a faithful viewer since the very beginning. I love this show. I much preferred it over The View because the first ladies of the morning are usually a little too political for me but the ladies of The Talk have always been funny, fun, and relatable, largely due to the dynamic of the ladies and their chemistry. I have to say, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini are hilarious and were clearly my stand out favorites.

When I heard they were not asked back for the second season I was completely upset and waged a Twitter war with CBS. For some reason they didn't listen to me and change their ways. Go figure. Anyway, I knew from the core of my being that this was a huge mistake. I was not the only one to feel this way. I follow Leah and Holly on Twitter and they retwitted many, many tweets of support and vows of no longer watching the show. Well they decided to add Molly Shannon and Sheryl Underwood. Really? They think Sheryl and Molly are a better fit then Leah and Holly. Really?

The show has become very uncomfortable for me to watch now. I'm not liking this change. CBS you should have listened to me and brought Leah and Holly back. Shame on you.

I heard that Julie Chen got all diva and didn't get along with Holly and Leah. She may have been threatened by their popularity, I don't know. Well, because of who Julie is married too the edict was handed down and Holly and Leah were unceremoniously given the boot. Talk about job security.

I wasn't too sure of these allegations until I watched the show dedicated to 9/11. The ladies were all sitting around the table giving their take on their 9/11 experience but when it came to Julie, she had a whole black and white vinyet taped with music and the whole nine yards. I remember looking at the show waiting for the other ladies to get their chance in the spotlight and tell their tale but it never came. Just Julie.

Hmmmm, there just might be something to this whole allegation of Julie being a controlling diva.

It's weird that she took over when the whole idea was Sarah Gilbert's. She's the executive producer for goodness sakes but it's become the Julie Chen and the Ladies show. I might just have to stop watching myself.

You Suck

If anyone knows me they know that I absolutely hate DirecTV. I hate Dishnetwork too but that's beside the point. I have DirecTV so they are my target today.

I have always had cable because their service is always reliable. I have always made a conscience effort to never subscribe to satellite because whenever there is a trickle of rain the damn service goes out. Not with cable.

Well, in this apartment were I live, we are forced to have DirecTV because these bastards get a kickback for forcing us. Well of course I signed up kicking and screaming because I knew there were going to be days when it would drizzle and my damn TV would go out and sure enough it happened a few times. We had a thunder storm today and the electric flickered as it typically does during thunderstorms. The lightening fried my DVR! I was too through. I unplugged the DVR, nothing. It is completely dead.

I called DirecTV and those bastards told me that they wouldn't send anyone out. If they did I would have to pay $50. They would mail me another box and I would have to set it up myself and all of this for the low, low cost of $20. Are you kidding me?

I have to pay for another box to be shipped AND set it up myself? When the hell did horrible customer service become the norm? Yikes. I can not wait until I move from this place and get rid of DirectTV.

Put Down The Damn Phone!

OK, so I went to dinner last night with a group of people. When I got to the restaurant I, unfortunately, had to sit next to this really young girl. She said absolutely nothing the entire evening. From the time I walked in until we all left this chick was buried in her phone. She didn't put that phone down for one minute.

People, let me ask you; when did it become acceptable to go out for an evening and spend the entire time playing with your phone?

I became so annoyed with her it was unreal. If all you wanted to do was play with your phone then you should have kept you butt at home. It is incredibly rude to sit at a table for dinner with people and ignore them and play with your phone all night. It's rude and not acceptable.

How did we get to this point? I know with facebook and Twitter and email at our fingertips that it's become extremely easy but how did we become a society of people too busy playing with phones and gadgets that they can't engage in real human interaction when we are in a room full of people?

You Need To Sit Down!

Usually, I do not get all political on my blog because this is my happy place and politics have no place here but when I see the level of fuckery that I see now I must say something.

Will someone please tell Donald Trump to sit his ass down. Really. Just because you run a multi million dollar conglomerate does not mean you have the wherewithall to run an entire country. What makes you think you have the diplomacy to balance the ever volatile foreign policy for example?

All "The Donald" knows how to do is fire people and pick media fights with folks, i.e. Rosie O'Donnell, Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld. Jerry Seinfeld? Really? Who fights with Jerry?

Donald, come here for a minute, listen closely, you can not issue poison pen letters and engage in verbal wars with everyone that disagrees with you.

And another thing, why the hell are you so focused on seeing and then disputing our current president's birth certificate? This "birthergate" is asinine and ridiculous.

Donald, go sit down somewhere please.

You Are Holding Me Up

I was in the checkout line at the grocery store yesterday looking through the tabloids minding my own business waiting for the line to move when I realized the line hadn't moved in quite sometime. I looked at the people in front of me and the cashier and saw something very stunning. The woman in front of me was actually performing an act that was so surprising I was speechless; she was writing a check! An actual paper check! I know!!!

When was the last time you wrote a check to purchase something? With the advent of debit cards and everyone and their mother has one why is there ever a need to write a check? I am surprised stores still accept them. As I stood there watching this it suddenly dawned on me why we began using debit cards in lieu of paper checks when making purchases. The transaction takes too damn long!! I had to wait for her to write the check, wait for the cashier to punch in some buttons on her little contraption, then I had to wait for her to slide the check through some slot on the side of her contraption then I had to wait for the manager to come over and put his mark on it.

I wanted to seriously cause this woman some bodily hard. People, this is why we use debit cards!!! So if any of you are contemplating writing a check at a cash register, do us all a favor and don't! The life you save just might be your own.

Yeah I'm Petty, So What!

OK, so I have two wonderful nieces that I love dearly. There's a third one but she is a little materialistic pain in the ass right now so she is not among the chosen few right now. So anyway, my two nieces are coming to visit me in a couple of weeks and I can not wait. I love those girls. Before I left Baltimore I left my Nissan behind and gave it to my 16 year old niece because she is currently going through the right of passage we all go through of getting her drivers license. YAAYYY!! I am so proud of her.

Anyway, my brother took her to MVA and she got her permit! SCORE! I was on facebook and was immediately set aback. First of all, she won't "friend" me on facebook. She doesn't want a bunch of "old people' on her facebook page but I saw that she "friended" her grandmother and her two other aunts from her mothers side. Excuse me! Then on top of that, her other aunt (a few years younger then me but whateves) took pictures of my baby behind the wheel of the car I gave her talking about how, "My baby's growing up" yadda yadda yadda. I'm gonna stab her in her eye with a pencil.

Is it wrong that I want to be her only aunt and I want the others to go away? She's my baby not theirs. Yeah, I know I'm petty but I don't care. She's mine dammit!

You Are So Wrong

OK, so I have a really good friend that I love dearly. Sometimes she can be a little off base and a little paranoid but I love her nonetheless. She has an 18 year old daughter and a beautiful 3 year old who I want to kidnap and just squeeze because she is just too adorable. Anyway, her 18 year old daughter has this boyfriend who at first her parents loved but later proved to be very irresponsible and disrespectful. In the age old tradition of love lorned teenagers everywhere since the beginning of time who's parents want them apart they have stayed together and professed their undying love.

It got so bad that the daughter moved out of her parents house and moved in with her boyfriend and his parents. Obviously my friend and her husband are really upset but there is nothing neither of them can do at this point. As you might imagine she got pregnant. Neither of them are employed so this is going to be difficult. The daughter calls her mother from time to time hoping to get some support from her but my friend is very stoic when she calls and very matter of fact and unyielding. Mind you this is the girls first child so she really needs her mother right now but my friend is so not getting involved with this situation at all.

The boyfriends mother put them out and they stayed with his friend for awhile. I asked her if she would let her daughter come back home and she said she'd have to break up with him first before that can happen. I wanted to shout at the top of my lungs that you are sooooo wrong for that. I understand that you don't like dude but the fact is now he is going to be the father of your first grandchild. You can not ask this guy to break up with his girlfriend and leave her stranded with a baby because they will not allow him in their house. THAT would be terribly wrong. Now is the time for them to shut up, bite the bullet and accept the situation and make the best of it. There will soon be a child involved. Oy vey.

Whew! It's Been Awhile

Hello my blohearts. I'm still alive. I know it's been like forever since I've posted but I've been crazy busy. The move to Atlanta is complete and I'm now a Georgia resident.

I'm beginning to get my bearings and find my way around which is great. I have everything I need right here in very close proximity and I love it. There are restaurants, there's a Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Staples, a mall, my banks, EVERYTHING I need is right here and I love it.

The weirdest thing happened and I am a little pissed about it. On Saturday as I was going to pick up my buddy to go shopping the rear view mirror fell from the windshield. I have never seen anything like this. I just got the damn car a few days ago, geesh!

The dealer's service department was closed on Saturday and Sunday so I took the car in yesterday and they are currently looking into the best way to handle the situation. Geesh.

I hate AT&T! I choose them as my telephone and Internet provider. they hooked up my phone on time as promised but why am I still waiting for my Internet modem? I am so freakin pissed right now. I have never had such horrible service. How in the hell can you have your customers waiting this long for Internet? This is so unacceptable and I am not happy. My whole job relies on the Internet so they are interfering with my livelihood. I had to go to Radio Shack and purchase a mobile USB to have Internet connection while I wait for my modem. You can best believe AT&T is going to hear about this bullshit.

OK, guys, that's all for now. I'll keep you posted on all the adventures, once they actually begin. Off to visit your blogs.

Tootles!

I Have Had It!

OK Mr. Snowman. Ha ha he he, you've had your fun now move the hell on. I am really sick of seeing you right now.

Because of you, Mr. Snowman, I was stuck out in the storm on Wednesday evening for 8 hours. Did you hear me Mr. Snowman, 8 HOURS! It was not fun. I had to maneuver around tons of abandoned cars. I almost ran out of gas because of you. It was scary. Damn you! I had a complete melt down in my car at around hour 6 1/2. I just couldn't take it anymore.

I left work at 4:40pm and did not step foot in my house until 12:30am and it's all because of you. If I never see you again it'll be too soon.

Because of this latest stunt you pulled you are no longer welcomed in my life. EVER!

Peace.

This is Why I Can't Stand You

Today was a prime example of why I hate mechanics and auto repair facilities. Yesterday I called an auto repair place to get a price on a new gas cap because the one on my Durango broke. I was quoted a price of $18.60. OK, no problem, I told the gentleman I'd be there sometime this week to pick one up.

Well today I decided since I was already out running errands during lunch that I'd go by the dealership and pick up the gas cap. I walk up to the parts counter and ask the guy for the gas cap. Here is where things take an ugly turn for the worst. He looks at his computer screen, punch on a few keys, asks me for the year of my vehicle, punches some more keys then says, "It'll be $25.90." SCCRRRREEEECHHHH! Did he just say $25.90? I am by no means a penny pincher and spend money like it's water but even I have to pause at this and inquire what was up. "Uuuuhhh, that's a big difference from the $18.60 I was quoted yesterday. What's the difference between the two?" He rattled off some nonsense about how one was a simple in stock item and the other was a magical cap that would keep my tank filled forever and ever with gas and my car with hearts and flowers. I give him a blank look and he punches more keys then looks at me and then charges me the $18.60.

Bastard! If I hadn't called the day before this dude would have charged me all this money for this bullshit gas cap unbeknownst to me.

Man I hate mechanics and auto repair facilities. Why do they feel the need to always rip you off?

I Got Something To Get Off My Chest

I got a couple of pet peeves that just irritate the bejeesus out of me. I wrote about one of them before actually.

One pet peeve of mine is when I am walking down the street and some random dude takes it upon himself to say to me, "Smile." Smile?! Dude you don't know me. If I wanted to smile I'd be smiling. Am I supposed to just walk around all day every day with a goofy ass grin on my face? Uh, no! So word to the wise, if you see me walking down the street and I'm not smiling, keep it moving or else there may be a situation. Men, let me give you a peice of advice, we women never like it when you tell us to smile. Never. That makes the hairs on the back of our neck raise. Well, maybe just my hairs but you get the point. Just keep it moving to be on the safe side mkay?

Second pet peele is someone spitting on the ground. I've mentioned this one before. That crap makes my skin crawl. UGH! I think I'm going to bitch slap the next person that spits on the ground around me.

You ever have one of those days were everyone around you just make it their mission to tap dance on your last nerve?

Slomin's Shield Are Shysters

As of recent I have developed a total disdain for Slomin's Shield security. In my opinion they are nothing more then unsympathetic shysters. Apparently I am not the only on who feels this way. Here's the back story.

A few years ago my mother decided to install an alarm system in her home provided by Slomin's. Everything was going well until she took ill and became disabled. She was forced to move into an Assistant Living facility. Her health has since declined to the point I am now looking into a nursing home for her. Since she moved out of her home She stopped paying for an alarm system she was not going to use. She informed Slomin's that she no longer needed their services.

Apparently Slomin's contract they had her sign was for 5 years and she completed 2 years on that contract. They were trying to force her to pay for 3 years of service that she could not use. They began legal proceedings against this woman. Nice.

When I saw the legal papers I called Slomin's then the attorney's representing Slomin's myself to inform them that my mother was disabled, living in a home and bed ridden. They did not want to hear of this and forced the issue.

They set a court date for last week and I attended on my mothers behalf. I explained to the judge my mothers situation but to no avail. Slomin's received what the judge called an "empty judgement" against my mother since they could not attach her disability payments although if they could those bastards would have.

I am really pissed off that these bastards go around suing people that should never be sued. My mother did not choose to get sick and disabled. She did not choose to have to move into a nursing home.

Slomin's Shield security are a bunch of crooks going around ruining peoples credit. Just read what the others had to say.

Please do not ever choose to purchase a Slomin's security system you will be very sorry.

My Personal PSA...of sorts

Hello all. I have a bit of a public service announcement to make so to speak. We all know that people are made of different shapes and sizes. That’s what makes us unique. Embrace the uniqueness that is you and be the best you can be.

With that said, I totally understand that some folks feel that a little enhancement here and there would make a world of difference to them. Possibly boost their self esteem. I’m all for that. God knows if and when I need a little something something done you best believe I’ll have my little ass on the operating table faster then you can say “Knock Me out!” I’ve said this before so it’s no secret.

My wonderful people, if you decide to go with the non surgical route of enhancement make sure you secure your shit before you hit the streets. I don’t want to be hanging out with my friends and look over and see you with half your fake booty enhancer (in Taupe) spilling out of your pants or see one boob by your knees and the other boob sitting on your throat. It’s not a cute look and I’d hate to see the embarrassed look on your face when I yell, “Girly, fix that lopsided boob of yours!” across a crowded room. I’m just saying.

Etta James The Bitch

OK, I had to interrupt regularly scheduled blogging to post about the ridiculous comments I heard today from Etta James.

How dare she make such nasty, mean spirited, inflammatory remarks. First off, for her to say that President Obama is not her president is just plain ignorant. Where does she get off slamming a man that has done so much for his community. He has done more to help people and bring about hope then she could ever dream of in her sleep.

Secondly, for her to slam Beyonce was mean and out of line. Beyonce is a talented entertainer and she had just as much right to sing for President Obama as anyone else.

I am so livid about these remarks that I can not adequately express myself.

This goes beyond ignorant and out of line. Her ass needs to go sit down and crawl back under the rock from whence she came.

I have lost so much respect for her ignorant ass. Bitch!

Customer Service Is Not What It Used To Be

I am a firm believer that customer service is extremely important. It can make or break your business.

With that said, if you are not a people person, please do not get a job in customer service. I beg of you.

Case in point, I had to return some curtain rods that were the wrong size at Wal-Mart. This is a “super” Wal-Mart in that it is fabulously large with a Subway, a nail salon, a bank, an ophthalmologist’s office and acres upon acres of grocery and household fabulousness.

I walked up to the customer service office armed with said curtain rods and was terribly disappointed to be confronted with a painfully long line with only one girl at the register and she looked all too pleased to be working at this time. Sure, I had nothing else better to do at 12:45 pm on a Tuesday afternoon anyway.

Finally, someone noticed how the line had stretched out of the office and wrapped around to the ophthalmologist’s office next door and decided to jump on the register next to Ms. Speedy Cashier there and help out.

Lucky for me when it was my turn at the register I got Ms. Speedy Cashier and instead of greeting me with a smile and asking what she can do for me today she stared at me without a word uttered, took hold of my receipt and began punching numbers into that register machine thing of hers. About 3 seconds later she looks up at the line and uttered not once but twice, “Gosh! People still keep getting in line. Dag!”

I merely turned my head to look at the end of the line, which I could not see, then I turned back to face her. I said nothing. I hope she wasn’t trying to get sympathy from me because she was ass out today my friend. This is your job. Get over it.

Since when was it OK to grumble and complain in front of customers?

If you don’t like your job then you need to find another. I'm just saying.

Comcast Is The Devil

I can not convey to you just how much I hate Comcast cable right now. They were scheduled to come to my home on Thursday to perform a complete install. They never show. I called several times and on the last call rescheduled the install for Saturday. Those bastards never showed again! I called and ripped them a new one. I was and still very livid!

I have no TV and no internet. I called them first thing this morning and cancelled my service. I had already scheduled Verizon FiOS to come on Saturday but being in a house with no TV or internet is rough. Especially since I sleep with the TV every night.

Comcast never tried to make things right. Their customer service sucks terribly. Everytime I called I was given a different story as to what was going on.

I hope those bastards go out of business.

On another note, I will tally your votes for the sexiest men and women and get that up by Sunday.

Sometimes You Just Have To Take A Stand

I had to fly to Massachusetts for a client visit this week. Can I say I hate the pain in the ass TSA jerks?

I know they have a job to do but is it in their job description to harass and piss me off? I mean really.

OK, I know that you can only take liquids and gels that are of a certain size and they must be in a plastic bag. I know this but dagnabit I forget sometimes. Geeze! Sue me.

I leave Baltimore with no problem. The TSA agents that checked my bags were fine. The guy did throw away my large Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path lotion. I was not happy but whatever.

After my trip I arrive at the airport in Connecticut and the idiot TSA agent goes into my bag and pulls out my Olay Total Effects moisturizer that I JUST bought and my Clarins Advanced Eye Serum. He had the audacity to say to me, “These have to be in a plastic bag.”

“Uh I know, the TSA agents in Baltimore didn’t say anything.”

“Well you need to have these in a plastic bag or go out and check your bag.” With my products in his hand, he actually started looking around as if trying to locate a trash can. Did he just lose his mind?

I know the guy is legally correct but can there be some consistency in this process? If some agents let you go then come on dude, you can too. I was getting a little heated.

“Are you kidding me? Do you realize how expensive this stuff is?”

“You need a bag and I don’t have one back here. You’ll need to check your bag.”

“Come on now. I’m not getting out of this line! That stuff is too expensive to throw out. You have got to be kidding me!”

He then proceeds to search around and luckily he located a plastic bag. YIPPEE!

I was fully prepared to fight tooth and nail for my skin care products. I pay a lot of money for this stuff and I be damned if I was going to let him throw it out.

I was fully prepared to go to the big house for the right to have my skin care products in my bag the way I want them. Sometimes you just have to take a stand people. Bastards!

Do You Ever Just Get Tired?

Do you ever get tired? I'm not talking about physically tired where you require a nap. This is a little deeper then that.

I am really tired of giving and giving and never getting what I need in return. Just because I never ask for anything (and I never do) that does not mean I don't need.

I may not need your money, I may not need a place to stay, I may not need to borrow your car but I need your support and understanding. That is all I ever "ask" of those close to me.

It gets a little disheartening when you need someone to just be there and they are not. It can hurt.

I am a very strong, self reliant woman and I really don't need anything from you materially speaking but just be supportive and that goes a long way.

When I had my surgery last year The Analyst took really good care of me but the only one of my friends to actually come and visit was R. I have known her for 30 years and she has been the constant mainstay in my life. I never held that against my supposed friends here in Maryland, not even my "friend" that lives in PG County which is 50 mins from my house whom I would bring food to because she was too distraught over her boyfriend being in Iraq to eat and then spending the night with her when her grandmother died but you better believe I never forgot.

The Analyst is a good man but he has some issues that have forced me to break off the relationship recently. Sure, he calls regularly and tries to get me to reconsider but I haven't heard anything from him that would suggest that things would change.

There were many times in the past when I needed his support and he was nowhere to be found. I never held that against him but, again, I never forgot. But over time the things that upset you begin to fester and build and build until you can no longer overlook them.

For some reason he asks alot of me and I give and give but it never seems to be enough. He still wants me to continue to be put out more and more and it's frustrating.

I'm the one that is still living in a small one room hotel that only furnishes you with 5 channels on the TV. I am the one that does not have my DVD's, my clothes, my furniture, my soft bed, my cable, my computer with all its software, my important paperwork while he is living in a HOUSE with his parents with all the luxuries I am temporarily without and he still expects me to give and exert myself yet further.

I love my life. I have a great home (whenever I am living there, lol), I have a few really good friends (a couple of them live outside of Maryland and that sucks), I love my job and the people I work with, I am not hurting financially (which is a lot to be said in THIS economy) but when will enough be enough? I am just tired.

I hope I am making sense because I just needed to vent.

My Crazy Weekend

OK, so my weekend started off pretty normal. My plan was to meet some girlfriends for a movie then dinner. We met at the theater and saw a great movie then decided afterward to go to a restaurant close by for dinner. Not a problem. As we are eating and enjoying ourselves we notice that some people had walked in and started setting up for what looked like a birthday party.

Of course me being as nosey as I am had to ask the server what was going on. She informed us that a group had rented the place for a private party and they were charging admission. We were like 'OK, whatever.'

We finished our meal and was waiting on the check when we noticed a half naked man walking past our table! We looked at each other and the obligatory high fives were going around and the decision was made right then and there to stay our asses right there to see what was going on.

Then a few minutes later a couple of girls dressed in lingerie started walking around as well. Hmmmmmmmmm.

As it turns out this group was a sensual pleasures group who sold adult toys and they were throwing an appreciation party for all their freaky patrons. Hmmmmmmmm...

They gave us all gift boxes with condoms in them. Condoms, lingerie, dildos and nipple clamps. Damn skippy we stayed to observe the festivities. This only happens to me. lol

That was Saturday. Sunday I met another girlfriend for dinner. As I was approaching the restaurant in Columbia MD, I witnessed a Howard County police officer race up, jump out of his car, run up to this kid and knock him off his bike, Then a few more cop cars barrel into the parking lot and they all converged on this kid and began to rough him up. My blood began to boil.

I stood just outside of the restaurant and watched the entire thing. If I was thinking I would have videoed it with my cell phone. Dagnabit! Anyway, there was this one cop that started walking away to retrieve the kids bike and I was so pissed off at how they were handling him that I screamed "Cops are fucking assholes!"

This jerk stops in mid stride, walks over to me and says,"Keep it up and I'll arrest you for disorderly conduct."

I looked at him and said "Disorderly conduct?"

He says,"Yes, for cussing in public."

I said, "I'm here." As if to say I'm here, what's stopping you? The jerk didn't scare me. Puleeze! He just turned around. I turned to walk into the restaurant but my rage got the better of me and I turned back around and walked back out side to prove to that jerk he did not scare me.

There was another lady standing out there as well and I said....loudly..."That guy is an ass! I'm not scared of him!" She was standing there cosigning everything I said.

Then a gentleman walked out of the restaurant to have a smoke and he inquired as to what was going on. I told him.....as loudly as possible...that the cops across the street were roughing up a kid. Then I added...loudly of course... "That ass over there thinks some one is supposed to be scared of him. I'm not scared of him!" I even pointed at that jerk for good measure. He might be able to scare most people but he didn't scare me. Jerk.

He caught me on the wrong day.

To Circumcise or Not Circumcise

I have a really good friend that I've known for 30 years. I'd do anything for her because she has always been there for me. When we were kids we'd fight like sisters would but always made up because that what sisters do. She had a baby last year and due to medical situations he was never circumcised. She had decided to put it off for a year.

Well a year has come upon us and I asked her recently if she still planned to have her baby son circumcised and she informed me that she had changed her mind.

I know this is between her and her husband but I seriously feel upset about that. I feel she is doing him a serious disservice by not having him circumcised.

Women like a circumcised penis. It looks aesthetically more pleasing plus it's easier for the man hygienically speaking. It's just a win win situation. I know I shouldn't be this upset but I really feel they need to have that boy circumcised.

How do you all feel about circumcision? Women, do you prefer a man that has had this done? Men how do you feel on this subject?
