Wow! This Place Sure Is Different.

I know, I know....I haven't posted in AWHILE. Sorry about that folks. I've been trying to get situated and find a groove. So here is a little update. I promise to be more consistant.

I am really liking it here in GA although within the first 20 days I was here I got sick twice. Yep, twice. Not fun. I guess my body has to get used to the GA environment.

Another thing I have to get used to is liquor. In Baltimore our grocery stores do not have alcohol in them. None of them. You actually have to go to a liquor store to buy alcohol. Not here. No matter where you go you see alcohol. Grocery store, alcohol, Rite Aid, alcohol, CVS, alcohol. Alcohol everywhere! I even saw a drive thru liquor store. I shit you not. I was driving down a street and saw cars going through a drive thru. I first thought it was a car wash and got all geeked because I have YET to find a car wash. Do people in GA wash their cars? I mean geesh! But I digress. Upon closer inspection I realized it was a drive thru liquor store. People every time I think I've seen it all something else happens and blows it out of the water. Wow.

Another thing I have to get used to is the damn police everywhere. They are like cock roaches. No matter where you go cops are pulling someone over. In my first two weeks here I got my first speeding ticket. I mean seriously! Driving the speed limit is painful. I'm not sure I can do this. Welcome to GA.

I'm not in Kansas anymore.

I'm DYING for a drive through liquor store here. Do you know how hard it is to balance an infant seat, a toddler and all the wine bottles at one time???

No joke - there was someone who drove up on a BIKE at a drive-thru liquor store in Florida - grabbed the bottle of whatever hooch he ordered and peddled away so quick that the "cockroaches" later found him via his bike :) Anywhoo - glad to hear you are settling in!

Thanks for the update Diva. Funny about the alcohol everywhere and police everywhere, the two opposite things if you think about it. Well at least you didn't get caught drinking and driving, with all the offers around. Here in Canada we only have designated places for alcohol, as it is still own by the government of Canada. Anna :) PS hope you get used to the place soon.

A drive-thru liquor store would be awesome!!!!! I am so jealous. Hope your body adjusts soon. I had six sinus infections when I first moved to Indianapolis, and I only moved one state south!

That's hilarious! Here in Oregon, the speed limit is slower than in California so I've become a granny behind the wheel.

As for the alcohol here, you can only buy it from a liquor store. You can get wine and beer at the grocery store but nothing harder than that.

A drive thru liquor store? I've never imagined something like that!

Life is def different in the south! and the Police dont play...What else do they have to do other than pulling people over, thier crime rates arent as bad as ours in MD...

They have to have cops everywhere...to keep tabs on the people getting drunk from the whisky they just bought at the Rite-Aid!

They have to have police everywhere to control the inebriated people driving through car washes expecting alcohol :-)

Sick and new place are not a good combination :-(
