I've Come To A Conclusion...

I've come to a conclusion after this weekend. My aunt from Alabama came over and visited my other aunt here in Georgia. They called me to tell me she was in town and the next day I went over to see them both. I had a really good time hanging out with them. It's always good being around family. All of a sudden the subject of food came up. My aunts asked me if I had ever eaten fried pickles. I looked at them both as if they had lost their mind. Seriously. Fried pickles?

So they decided to take it upon themselves to fry up a batch for me to try. So here I am waiting for the fried pickles to come up from the fryer thinking, 'What the hell have I gotten myself into?'

So the first batch arrives onto the table and I look at them with apprehension. They all look at me as if to say, 'Go ahead, take one.' So I buckled under the pressure and took one. I popped it into my mouth and started chewing. I must say it wasn't too bad. My cousin then pipes up and says, "It tastes better with ranch dressing." and he proceeds to go to the refrigerator and grabs a bottle of ranch dressing and I try it and it was actually pretty good.

I've come to the conclusion that people in the south will fry anything!

Of course we will fry anything. At the state fair of Texas there's fried twinkies, fried cookie dough, and even fried Coke (haven't tried that one yet).

This is in addition to the normal stuff like corn dogs, fried fish, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken.

After years of hearing that sweet potatoes are better for you that regular potatoes, we're starting to see a lot of restaurants serving sweet potato fries.

I don't think that's going to help.

And I wouldn't get used to those fried pickles if I were you. A regular pickle is like ten calories. I have no idea what it is after frying. And then the ranch dressing is like two hundred calories.

I tried these not long ago. They were...okay. Were yours sweet or dill? Maybe that makes a difference.

Yes they will! Have you ever had fried oreos? They sell them at the rodeos in Texas. I must admit that I haven't tried them.

Fried pickles are divine! I even fried carrots once which took all the nutritional value out of them but made them heavenly.
Yes, we will fry anything. Don't sit still too long or we will fry you:)

Fried pickels are great, it's kinda of popular in Baltimore. But there has to be a limit. Fried oreos aren't that great...
