Ignorantnomics

I'm sure you are wondering what "Ignorantnomics" is. It's a term I coined yesterday actually after witnessing some really ignorant economic decisions made by some people.

Ignorantnomics is when you are 2 months behind in your mortgage/rent but when you win $12,000 in the lottery you buy a flat screen plasma TV instead.

Ignorantnomics is when your kitchen is falling apart and you decide to put a deck on the back of the house instead.

Ignorantnomics is when you and your kids need clothes and shoes but you buy rims for your car instead.

37 People saying stuff:

I think I see a book deal for you if you can expand on this idea.

Make sure to send me an autographed copy when it's all said and done.

HOw true, how true! How on earth much was that flat screen plasma tv set anyway? Winning $12,000 surely should have covered the tv and catchup ball with the rent you'd think.

LMBAO! Only US I swear...

You got that right! Might not have electricity, but they damn sure have that HD plasma TV...

It's what our whole society has become.
"Let someone else pay for it."
WE..the taxpayers are that "someone"

Most of America, this November, will vote for the candidate, that they believe, will GIVE them the Most!

Makes me sick.

It will be the downfall of the U.S. Empire

Love the word!
Isn't it amazing what people do with money? You really have to wonder if they are even thinking when they make those purchases.

Sheesh! It's why these people are where they are...priorities!

Unfortunately, this is not even a new trend, and there are already several books on the subject.

George Orwell's Road to Wigan Pier is a good book on the subject.

And if you really want to know what I think on the subject
http://insidioustruth.blogspot.com/2008/02/poor-people-do-not-know-how-to-spend.html

Not quite as long as Mr. Orwell's book, but much to long to write as a comment in someone else's blog.

Very good Diva! And all so true!

What the....?

I shouldn't be so surprised. I have a family member who was behind on rent and called me for a loan of $500 which I sent Western Union (cost me an extra $60 or so). Don't you know later I find out when he got evicted 2 weeks later that he took the $500 to go to DISNEY WORLD with his pregnant girlfriend.
Ignorantnomics is the name for this fool too. You rather use the money you asked as a loan for Disney instead of a place to stay for you and your pregnant girlfriend??? Let's just say, I never did see ANY of my $500 back either. Live and learn!

i feel you i see alot of people like that and it makes me so upset. but like you said its ignorance. but what can you say to people like that? nothing!

Um, don't read my latest post then babe, cause I am totally part of that crowd...

Well not really ;)

Ignorantnomics is fueled by the banks and other lending institutions that offer to bail you out of your high debt by... yes, lending you more money and using your house as the collateral.

HOW in the world is THAT a good decision?

If you can't afford to pay back the loan you already have, stop borrowing!!

Jeeez... yup, it's a way of life in our country.

LOVE this post!!

Hey - in Orlando there are signs everywhere where people can "rent" rims. Hot damn - now that's the height of foolishness if you ask me.
