Watch Your Texts

I have a coworker "Mary". Mary has a husband "Gary". Gary calls Mary to give her a bit of news which she amusingly passed on to us.

Gary has a woman under his employ. She apparently was texting her husband. In one of the texts flowing back and forth the woman wrote, "Sure Honey, I can go tonight but let me leave now because Gary's being a Dick today and I don't want him to ruin this."

Guess what happened when she pressed Send on her phone? Yep, you guessed it, she inadvertedly sent the text message to Gary!

He called her into his office and poor girl just fell apart. LOL

Oops!

That's a good one.

Although, I know to well what it feels like when you send a text message to the wrong person.

I have since learned to be VERY vague in many of my texts.

Close calls are scary.

If Gary was smart, he would have texted her back with something like:

"Hi honey - sorry, changed my mind. I've just discovered gay porn and will be sticking vegetables in my ass until you get home. Don't be surprised to see your dad here."

Think, Gary. THINK!

I've almost sent a text to the wrong person before! How awful lol

OMG, I have sent an email to the wrong person before at work. ACtually I sent it to a group of about 30 people. Talk about embarrassment.

lol..... I guess Gary was on her mind. So.. did she get to leave early (like those words "you're fired" early)

Crap! That would suck.

LMBAO! Unfortunately, e-mail and texts can be a beeyotch. You e-mail and text so much--you're bound to make a mistake; and once it's out there, it's out there!

That is the worst. I've done that once and after that I'm sure to never do it again

Ah geeeez, poor girl.

Too bad for Gary that Mary wasn't sending any cleavage shots or something like that.

My co-worker Mary has a husband Gary in five days from now...

Sorry but there's never a bad time to re-work some Bust A Move lyrics.

That's too funny, though - and one of the many reasons I'd never put my boss' number on my cell phone.

I have never sent a text to the wrong person. The way I see it, if you can say it behind their back you can say it to their face. So always be prepared if the person you are talking about finds out what you are saying.

nnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooo! She hates herself right now! That's so funny.

I once accidentally sent an email to the group instead of the person. I thought it was a private email, so I just hit reply. I didn't really say anything bad, but it was a bit embarrassing.

Oh well.

Klingon proverb--If I did not want it heard, I would not have said it.

LMAO.....I have had a similar experience so I guess I shouldn't laugh....hee hee...

That would totally fucking suck!!!!!!!!! I would die! Thank god I don't have my boss's cell phone number in my phone. But oh my god - there's always e-mail. I could see myself sending the wrong e-mail to someone. I think I have actually.

That's a nightmare of mine. I always, always double check before pressing send.

This is yet another reason why I don't like texting! That, and I am REALLY bad at it!

Melissa said...

Oh wow....how awful! I know I have replied to emails before thinking I was hitting the forward button, however I hit the reply button, so the message I didn't want the reply person to see, ended up seeing it!

I knew a Gary once....he was a D*ck too. :)

Another reason I don't text.

Big OOPS there, for sure. I don't have to worry about that happening to me -no cell phone, thus no texting. But I have screwed up like that with e-mails in a the first online group I joined and also with an former classmate when I thought I was responding to someone else and mentioned a faux pas with the other classmate. Ok, it did sort of mushroom for a bit but then settled down and all was attributed to my being an airhead!

i happened to do that once. i was talking to my friend about my sister-in-law and i sent the msg to my SIL instead of him. when i realized i just tried to cover it by talking about things i've talked to him before.
so happy i didn't write any cursing word before her name. lol. that would have been BAD!

Lol, that's funny.

i did that once with an email when I was working in the corporate world once upon a time. but i thankfully was tight with my boss, who knew he was being a dick and had admitted it only moments before. he laughed alot about it. 10 years later we are still good friends

oooooooooopsie~!~ That would so happen to me. We had sametime (like instant msg) at my last job and I can't even tell you how many people would send it in error to the person they were talking about!!

CC Solomon said...

I'm always parinoid about that stuff. Like if you don't turn off your cell phone properly the other person can still hear you. Seen it happen a few times but luckily nothing bad was said.

I needed that! Thanks for the laugh (I especially liked Moooooog35's comment).
