Comcast Is The Devil

I can not convey to you just how much I hate Comcast cable right now. They were scheduled to come to my home on Thursday to perform a complete install. They never show. I called several times and on the last call rescheduled the install for Saturday. Those bastards never showed again! I called and ripped them a new one. I was and still very livid!

I have no TV and no internet. I called them first thing this morning and cancelled my service. I had already scheduled Verizon FiOS to come on Saturday but being in a house with no TV or internet is rough. Especially since I sleep with the TV every night.

Comcast never tried to make things right. Their customer service sucks terribly. Everytime I called I was given a different story as to what was going on.

I hope those bastards go out of business.

On another note, I will tally your votes for the sexiest men and women and get that up by Sunday.

I have Comcast and they are raising their prices. .. again.

I have Fios for the internet and phone but they don't offer TV yet in my area. And when they do I am leaving Comcast for good.

Beware of those deals where you get phone service from the cable company as part of a combined package. If you want phone service as unreliable as cable TV is, you'd love it.

We have one now, and it goes out a lot. It has made me appreciate how real phone companies keep phone service up no matter what.

Comcast and AT&T can go to hell in my book. They can honestly eat isht and die and they will NOT be missed.

There was this old woman on Dr. Phil who took a hammer to her cable company's office and destroyed either their phone or their keyboard or something for leaving them without phone service. I'm trying to remember which cable company that was. But I'm thinking that they're mostly the same.

I don't have cable TV in my home, cause with all of the bad sales and other financial problems I just can't justify paying extra for TV. But we do have cable for the Internet. When we moved and had to have the cable installed for the Internet, there was supposed to be a deal where we also got free cable TV for several months. So we figured that we would do that. The guy showed up reasonable on time, but then he just refused to do anything right. Like he wouldn't even park where he was supposed to. Where I live if you don't park where you are supposed to you might block someone in or you might keep the emergency vehicles from going someplace, so if you don't park as instructed, you get towed away. So he parks in the wrong space, and I tell him he'll have to move, and I'd offer him my spot but I don't think that he can get into my spot with all of the ladders and such that are on his truck. So then he wants to park in someone else's driveway. You can't park on someone else's property, even if they aren't using it right at that moment, and I'd never heard anyone make such a stupid suggestion. So when we finally get him to park where he is supposed to (maybe ten or fifteen feet away from where he wanted to park and no reason to make a fuss about anyway) he was somehow under the impression that he wasn't going to have to do any real work. He thought he was going to throw a switch or something and move on. No, you're here to install the cable. You have to actually get out the tools and to the work, and you have to stay off of the roof while you're doing it, cause only the guys who work for the roofing company are allowed on the roof. (Seriously, I'm not even allowed on my own roof.) The guy walks around and complains about this and that, and then he finally leaves without doing anything.

A couple of other guys came out a few weeks later and did all the work. Unfortunately, we did not get the deal with the free cable TV, as that particular deal had exprired by then. They worked for a bit less than an hour and didn't complain about anything. Unfortunately, since they were not complaining and making excuses and such, they did not read the thing that says that they aren't supposed to be on the roof, so they went up anyway. I'm always afraid that when the roofing guys come back that they are going to complain about the cable guys having done something, and I'm going to get fined or something from it.

I have cable tv here (not Comcast though, as they are not in this particular little area) and I have my internet now through the tv cable company. But VERIZON is the devil incarnate! Ya know that stupid commercial of theirs "Can you hear me now?" Well, I think they ought to come to this particular area and just try to use their -or any one else's for that matter -cellphone service here as getting a signal here is virtually impossible! Considering how few problems we have experienced with our cable company, I'm really glad that Comcast isn't available here. I'd offer a suggestion that you write a letter to Gov. Rendell in Harrisburg (although I know you aren't one of his constituents since you live in Maryland) but he is supposed to be in bed with Comcast so, who knows, maybe he has some pull with the idiots in charge ya know.

I have comcast at my beach house and they are always a pain in the but with the shut off/turn on as the seasons change. My house is in a seasonal community, they offer specials for seasonal service and still screw it up.

Damn girl - Comcast is so fucked up! I hated them when I lived in Maryland. I'm so glad you took a stand and cancelled your service. Good for you.

I have a hit out on them!! I haven't had my premium channels in two weeks. I had to get cablecards installed in my new Tivo (they didn't have DVRs). The guy came and then he left before actually seeing if I had a signal. I called back and then they had two installers come who didn't know anything about cablecards. I was told that I was going to get another installer but he didn't come till Saturday. Then miraculously, the cable came on by itself but no HBO. I have called and no one has helped me. I am going to just cancelled the premium package. I'll wait for True Blood come on DVD.

I'd be a sad, sad girl without cable or internet. Hopefully, Verizon gives you better service.

No t.v. would be hard and who doesn't show. I mean it's money to them that now they won't make. With customer service sills like that...going out of business might actually happen.

Girl, Comcast can kick rocks. I went to Direct TV and Comcast keeps sending me stuff to come back to them. I wish they could see the middle finger I'm giving to them!

Ms.Honey said...

Umm..dang.

I wish I could have FIOS cause I sure as heck would get it...I know it sucks when things are out it seems like all the DVD's just wont do

Joe said...

So if Comcast is the devil, and if the devil is in the details, then Comcast is in the details. If that's the case, they should have been all over this.

On a side note, Verizon's products are great but their customer service is as bad if not worse than anyone else's. Be prepared.

Can I nominate SSC for sexiest woman?

btw - I tried to sleep with my TV, but the holes were way too small.

I hope those bastards drown in competition....

That really sucks. What would I do without TV or internet?

Comcast will soon learn the power of word of mouth!! I don't have patience for companies that don't act like they care if they have my business or not. You tell them Tee!

Hey! I wanted to add Joshua Jackson to the list of hottest guys!

OK - this is where I hide and go "Comcast?? Wazzat" but, in reality, that's where some friends of mine work. Here's a trick - tell them you want to talk to "Executive Customer Care" and blast those mofos. Better yet - there is a guy on twitter that I know--- shoot me an email when you can and let's get this cleared up!

I hate Comcast too. When we moved into our house, we had to have it completely rewired. I ended up threating to get a restraining order against the guy who did the installation. He was a nutcase. It really is a weird story. Maybe I'll blog about it tomorrow if I remember. Comcast didn't seem to care that they had a potential stalker/serial killer working in people's homes.
