Etta James The Bitch

OK, I had to interrupt regularly scheduled blogging to post about the ridiculous comments I heard today from Etta James.

How dare she make such nasty, mean spirited, inflammatory remarks. First off, for her to say that President Obama is not her president is just plain ignorant. Where does she get off slamming a man that has done so much for his community. He has done more to help people and bring about hope then she could ever dream of in her sleep.

Secondly, for her to slam Beyonce was mean and out of line. Beyonce is a talented entertainer and she had just as much right to sing for President Obama as anyone else.

I am so livid about these remarks that I can not adequately express myself.

This goes beyond ignorant and out of line. Her ass needs to go sit down and crawl back under the rock from whence she came.

I have lost so much respect for her ignorant ass. Bitch!

LMAO! I hate old women past their prime hating on younger women. From what I heard she was too sick to attend the ball so Beyonce sang it for her. Plus didnt B play her in a movie. she needs to sit down somewhere!

Preach, its soooo silly for a grown a$$ woman who made a hit record over 4 decades ago to be bitter about beyonce (an icon of our generation) who sang her stupid ass song that only prolly get played at wedding anyway. Sike I love that song but still she dead wrong

I see both sides to this. I think she was insulted that she didn't get to sing or at the very least that no one asked her permission. I think jealousy plays a role here. But on the other side, she could have been more tactful. Perhaps she wasn't cleared b/c the Obama camp knows she wasn't a supporter? Not that Beyonce was but whatev.

I heard about this and was surprised. I have always loved the Etta James version of At Last, when I heard Beyonce sing it, I really liked her version too. Listening to her sing and watching them dance moved me to tears.

Anyway, I was shocked James said all that she did. I agree, she is ignorant and was just plain mean in her remarks about Beyonce and disrespectful about Obama.

Wow. Passionate about this, huh? I can sort of understand being pissed when someone younger and hotter takes over your "claim to fame".

I SOOOOO agree. Shaddup already!

I don't agree with what she did and I feel there was another way to handle it. I do understand how hurt she was that she wasn't invited. If anything this is showing why they didn't want to invite such a trashy lady to the White House.

So very sad!!! I loved Etta and her one hit wonder; At last!

Hearing this bull crap coming from this twisted old hag doesn't surprise me. Why? She wasn't a stable individual back then, and she still isn't today. We all kno that etta James did major drugs back in her days, and with her over doses, etc. Sounds like her brain is royally fried up! so much so, she can't normally process the thought of a skinnier, hotter, younger, more talented and more sober chick to replace her throne! HA!

I, too, think the comments are uncalled for and found no bearing for them.

Is something bothering you, Diva? I just get a sense that you're a little upset...

I thought Etta James was dead.

LMBAO. That was short and right to the point. Yes she's been nominated for Joker of the Week. She is a really really OLD HATER. That's it.

The moment of them dancing to At Last was one of the most heart-warming sweet moments of the inauguration festivities.

Etta doesn't want anyone to forget her.

TOO LATE! LOL

Dead or alive, my president is still Chuck Heston.

Maybe Etta James is a NRA member who doesn't like Beyonce. It's possible, right? Or maybe she's just an a-hole.

At that age, you'd think she would've learned some class. You don't diss young talented artists because they sang your song-- you're supposed to be flattered.

Wow, that video-- no wonder you're steaming.

Wow.
So no one is allowed to voice their opinion anymore without being considered a bitch?
I'm proud of her for voicing her opinion.
It's her song!!! If someone was to sing a song you wrote and performed for the PRESIDENT, wouldn't you be a little ticked? And yeah, I'd be pissed if it was Beyonce too, She CAN sing, but in the way of being able to climb the scales up and down very quickly. Etta has such volume and quality in her voice, and suggesting that Beyonce is better than Etta is absolutely incorrect. Besides, Beyonce is slowly going the way of Garth Brooks alter ego thing with her whole Sasha Fierce (aka crazy vent), and every time I see her on tv, shes wearing the most ridiculous getup I've seen. She really seems like a self absorbed bitch, what with all the ladies that she has left behind in the dust (HOW many times did we see the lineup change in Destiny's Child? And now she's solo?)
And as for the he's not MY president comment, I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all. I'm an Obama supporter and I voted for him, but anyone and everyone has the right to voice her opinion. I think the reason she's being attacked for this is because she's a black woman going against having the first black president. It seems to me she's judging him on things other than race, which I find an admirable quality. I mean shit, hasn't this whole civil rights thing been so that things don't happen based on race? Kudos to her for not bowing down to the pressure of feeling like she HAS to vote for someone because they're of similar ethnicity.

PS I die a little inside when I read shit like this:
"beyonce (an icon of our generation)"
