When Is It Safe To Show The Crazy?

I have been thinking about this the last couple of days and have not been able to come up with an answer so I thought I would bring this to you, my blog peeps.

When do you think it’s safe to show your “want to be mate” your crazy? Let’s face it people, we all have some crazy that we keep at bay most of the time. Some of us are better at it then others so you’d never think they had any crazy but I’m here to tell you my friend, we all have a little crazy going on.

Case in point, you meet a really nice guy or girl and the chemistry is off the charts and you are both enjoying each others company then after that, no call. Days go by, no call. You leave a message, it’s not returned. Now in your head, you are a little crazy. Do you let it show and if so how much? Do you call him or her 15 more times until they pick up? Do you email 121 times until they respond? Do you drive by their house until you spot their car then run up on their door and bang like you are the police? These are all things that you have thought about but how much is too much to show?

When you finally get this evading person on the phone do you act all cool like you didn’t just call them 200 times or do you go right into the crazy and hit them with a barrage of questions like, why haven’t you called? I thought we had something didn’t you? What’s wrong with me? What did I do? Am I too short, tall, light, dark, blonde, brunette…etc? I know we only had the one date but didn’t you feel IT?

I’m just asking. Doing research you know.

I show my crazy right away, probably why I'm single!

If or when I get ahold of the scumbag, I would act like nothing happened and then ask them when they wanted to see me again :)

I say the earlier, the better. You can always start out with a small fraction of crazy and increase it as they get to know you better.

F*** that guy though. If he is too inconsiderate to return a call/email already, who needs him?

Noelle, I think I love you! lol

Okay this post wasn't going were I thought it was. The neurosis? You may want to wait a while on that.

I think the person who has not responded back to you has already showed his crazy.

I am with Noelle. Fuck him!!! I will even type the F word for you.

What an ass!!! You do not need some one who is going to play games. He should be able to answer the phone to say sorry that it just is not going to work out.

There's no sense in searching for someone who doesn't want to be found; when this is realized, then the "crazy" is least likely to be shown.

oh no, i keep my crazy under tight wraps. he's gonna have enough to deal with when he meets my family. why scare the man off before it's necessary? lol.

If he hasn't returned a call forget him. Calling again and again actually makes a crazy person seem desperate.

Now, to the crazy question. I actually tell a man up front on the first date I am crazy.

As for the guy, if he can't bother emailing you back, it's best to ...well you know...what Noelle said.

As for showing the crazy, when we were going through pre-martial classes with the church the priest asked me was there anything I hadn't told my husband that would probably freak him out after we were married. I thought "really...if I haven't told him I'm sure as hell not telling you". I just answered "no". So save the crazy, crazy for a little later :)

Compared to my family, I am crazy light. The same for my husband. Because we are the sane ones on both sides when the crazy leaks on either one of us, the other understands.

That said, I try to broadcast the crazy in small snippets... kind of like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. I don't want anyone to say they weren't warned!

Early as possible!

Considering the luck I have (or don't have) when it comes to locating anyone who is date potential, I'm thinking if that ever did happen, I would most likely unleash maximum crazy immediately simply because of the improbability of my having located such an individual! Yeah, as Shorty said -let it fly from the start so there are no "surprises" later I suppose you could say.

I try to hold the crazy off as long as I can but I think some of it depends on how much I actually like the person and how long we've been talking/dating/whatever they call it these days.

Screw that! A man who doesn't return a phone call or email is a man who needs to head the hell on down the road!

you are so funny! I don't know because I haven't had to date in 13 years. I would say right away so that if they can't handle it they won't stick around. I don't really know though! Maybe never :)

Two months. Then start to break him in slowly... ;-)

I'm with Noelle--forget the guy. Especially in the beginning if he doesn't call back it's time to move on!!!

If a person likes you it doesn't matter when you show yourself.

Don't judge the lack of response as anything yet. Wait all will be revealed.

I'll let you know what I think as soon as the voices stop telling me to 'kill kill kill.'

You secretly stalk the hell out of him, show up at some place he is at (Wow, weird, YOU come here too???) with some HOTTIE HOT thing (even if it is your gay friend) and make him jealous.

That is what I do.

After stealing his dog.

Ummm, I mean, uhhhhh....

No, I'm with everyoene else, you don't need an A-HOLE but you DO need to make him feel like he made a huge mistake.

So, when you do show up with your hot friend DON'T FORGET THE PUSH UP BRA!

The sooner the better. Surprises of the crazy nature are never a good idea in a relationship.

I died laughing when I saw the title. I should blog about "When Is It Safe to Let 'em Know that You Are Prone to Say Anything Out of Your Mouth." My mouth gets me in trouble. But the stalking/emailing 121 times/calling 50 elem times biz is a definite no no. Never that.

show it!

did you just finish watching "He's just not that in to you"? I hated that movie because I found myself in several of the characters :-(
I'm an evil person who would cut off the nose on her own face, so I would call until he picked up and then say something like, "Oh, Jim? I am SO sorry I've been trying to return Mike's call this whole time."
Yeah, my husband never knew what hit him when my crazy came out...

Rachel said...

Hmmm...I'm not sure if I ever show my crazy. Usually, if a person stops calling out of the blue, which is discourteous in the first place, I'm all, "Whatever! Good riddance!"
