I Think My Job Made A Huge Mistake

Here at the good ol' job site we recently moved our offices. We went from one crappy, old, ugly building to a really nice one with new desks and a new phone system. I love it!

With these new diggs comes new windows. In our old building we had very high windows and we could not see out of them. Not to mention the windows were in very strategic places. Now we are surrounded by windows. Windows everywhere. Every where I look, there is a window. I love it! It's bright and airy here. There's just one problem. I've told you guys before how I easily get distracted by shiny new things, well why did they put me right in front of a window WITH A GREAT VIEW!! What were they thinking?

I keep finding myself staring out of the window constantly. This can't end well.

I see it taking only 3 days before my productivity drops 75%. Are you guys hiring? I see a job hunt in my immediate future.

I understand that! My job had the same kind of move we are now in a beautiful building and I have a window view. I get distracted so easily because I'm so nosy!

My favorite? When there are hot guys at the pool and I can stare out the window at them. Doesn't happen enough. Most of our tenants are trolls. Oh well, I get more work done that way!

I have had an office like that. When the deadlines start hitting, the views don't seem so great. :)

Yeah -eventually reality -of the job -will set in and the crunch to get things done will be on a high level and you'll start adjusting to putting that great view out of your mind.

So...... you catch anything naughty from that view yet ?

Judging from the title, this post was SOOOOO not what I thought it would be about. :-) Enjoy the view!

Just telling it like it is said...

It's not the windows that cause me trouble... it's all of these coeds walking about in these shorts and brief tops... D-A-Y-U-M!!!!!

Don't these windows have blinds? I'm at a window and I've just learned to keep the blinds pulled all day. I only open them when I don't want to work. :)

The last company that I worked for had very dark windows, so we couldn't see the outside world. It felt like prison...but I also had the best sales in the office. I'm easily distracted at times, so a nice view would have cost me my job eventually!

One of the strategies to drive employees to leave a company by their own decision in Japan is to give them an office with windows. The good workers are all penned up together, collaborating. Their work culture is so collaborative that puttiing workers in an office where they're separated and only see the outside drives them bonkers.
