Bittersweet Holiday

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday this week. I was off from work for a few days so its tough getting back to my routine. These few days off sure did go by fast! UGH! Oh well.

Christmas for me was bittersweet. It was busy in that I cooked the entire meal and hosted my family over at my house. For all of you that have hosted parties or gatherings you know what an undertaking that really is. Anyway, the meal came out really good. I was pleased about that. Everyone seemed to have had a really good time.

The holiday would have been perfect except The Analyst and I got into a huge fight. We have been fighting on and off for the last two weeks. It really sucks. I think we are pretty much over. How much does that suck to break up with your boyfriend on Christmas? That really blows.

It’s really hard this time because I really believed things would be different this go around. I believed he really wanted this relationship but we are not meant to be I don’t think. He is just too bitchy and whiny for me. All I get from him is bitching. He is truly worst then a woman.

We’ll see how this whole thing pans out. I want him out of my house because it is too painful to have to deal with him everyday. His attitude about things just tends to piss me off and I am constantly floating from anger to sadness to frustration to hopeful. He is confusing me by trying to be playful with me and still wanting to spend New Years together. How can I begin to put him behind me if he keeps doing this?

I wish I had never let him back into my life. I feel really foolish for believing in him again.

To top things off The Manager started texting me yesterday with a happy holiday wish. We talked on the phone for a little while and he claims he was going through a lot which caused him to disappear. He talked about how he missed me, yada, yada, yada. I am not sure of his real motive here. Why contact me now?

Perhaps the Manager had another girl that he wanted to give it a go at and it didn't pan out. Kinda like what you did with the Analyst to him.

And as far as the analyst, my opinion is to always look forward and never look back.

I to have taken a man back more than once and the outcome was failure twice. If it didn't work once, 90% chance it won't work twice.

Good Luck and maybe being single for a bit would be a good thing for you.

As far as NYE, if you think you need him there for you then spend the time with him. But make sure it's because YOU want to do it and not because he whined about it and you did it for HIM.

so sorry you had to go through this girl...letting him go will be difficult but may also feel like a relief after all of the fighting lately...as for the manager, hasn't he tried to pop back in before? maybe i'm not remembering correctly but if he's going to come and go like that thinking you'll go for it, he's soooo not worth your time...

How true is your last statement?? Goodness, I am testament to that!

It is hard to go through such crap during the holidays but you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you spend New Years with The Analyst if that ain't even what you're feeling. I applaud you for your strength. Hang in there and always remember to be true to self.

"Men are the most irritating, frustrating creatures on this earth!!!

I disagree but then again, I'm a man. LOL. Things will work out in due time.

In my experience, men only contact you out of the blue for one reason! and just remember, as far as the Analyst goes, we learn from our mistakes and I believe everything happens for a reason.

I'll have to jump on the bandwagon with the Analyst and the Manager, but YES men have a hunch when they should come back to mess up with a girl's head and heart. Sorry to hear your Christmas wasn't great, I hope New Year will introduce you to the Right One. Catch up with you soon.

I want to say that men suck, but in all honesty, I think it is dating that sucks. It is so hard. And it stinks to have a break up his time of the year. Let's hope next year is better!

I hope everything works out for the best for you. Get yourself out of everything that's not making you happy. You'll find the right guy at the right time.
(i've been hearing that a lot from a 50 year old woman who got married 7 ears ago.... lol - my boss)

And to think of how many people think it is us - women - who are difficult to understand? Excuse me but I beg to differ there!

I know all about Happy Holiday break-ups (I think that's an oxymoron)

men, they are so unnecessary but they have the necessary thing i need

Jazzy said...

Your last sentence sums men up quite nicely.

Ohhhhhhhh I hate a bitchy man!!! Seems like an oxymoron, but happens more often than not.

Personally I think way too many men start acting 'funny' around the Holidays, particularly Christmas. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm.

Men are stupid, irrational beings that sometimes only think with one body part. Diva I admire you, you are strong and when you know what you want you go for it. Get the Analyst out of your house now. What’s with the ups and downs you don’t need that shit. I would tell him that you are fed up with this and you can’t it any more, buy him a banjo and say play that it has more strings, I am not our ****ing puppet. As far as the manager thing goes I would be like was so important you couldn’t text me a what’s up earlier.

I have had some problems here and there in the relationship department recently and with other things and sometimes you have to let your pride go and do what you want in the name of love.

If I were you I would figure out if the Analyst is the one and if you don’t think so say you need your space. I would go out for New Years with my friends and bring it in right, who wants to ring in the New Year with Drama? Your too good for that Diva!!!!!! You don’t play that.

Anyway I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you have a great New Year. So you cooked for your family, please tell me they didn’t leave you alone in the kitchen for the clean up as well???!?!?!?!?!?

I so could have told you that....

*deep sigh* atleast you gave it a try...cant fault yourself for that...the analyst sounds like ya' typical man that has NO clue what he wants..dont let em' play with yo' heart girl.

Damn, I am speechless...by both the post and the comments.

Well, you know what they say: Can't live with us, can't live without us.

I am sorry you and The Analyst are pretty much over - if he is making you crazy then it's good that you end things before they get even uglier - but I know that doing so over the holidays sucks big time....The Manager wants to have someone in his life as he is feeling wistful over the holidays- but I don't know if it's good or bad..hang in there sweetie!

Anonymous said...

My recommendation? Make other plans for New Years....It will give "the analyst" time to "analyze" himself...If it works out in time, wonderful!..If it wasn't meant 2 B then you will not spend the holiday in limbo nor wasting time...That way you are not miserable....

It was pretty much the same here. I tried to keep my mouth shut, so that we could have nice holiday time. Also, there's a bit of a seasonal lay-off at work, so he's going to be around the house all the time for a few weeks. So I was trying to be really nice, but then he has to rub it in my face and then he tells me everything is fine. I can't handle that. If we're going to pretend that everything is fine, we both have to do that. Can't just do stuff that he knows hurts me and then just tell me to get over it. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way.

I managed to get through Christmas okay, but yesterday he said something particularly insensitive, so I let him have it. This morning I feel like crap, but he's still saying that everything is fine. I'm supposed to go to a party tonight, but even that is really going to suck.

I wish he'd waited a couple more weeks to say the insensitive stuff.

I cant stop laughing about "why contact me now?" It is so true. Men have such funny timing. You wonder what prompts things sometimes. Happy New Year.

Men are so frustrating and annoying and irritating. I hate them and my life is better when I'm alone, however, it gets boring and lonely, so what is a girl to do????? Well, with him out of you life, maybe you are clearing the way for a new man to appear.

Have a great New Year!!!!!
