Can I have Some Consistency Please?

I'm not sure if I made this clear in previous posts but I love WalMart. Especially The "Super WalMart". I know there are some of you that hate WalMart for whatever twisted reason you have so please don't send me any hate mail. It will not sway me in the least. I pledge my undying love to WalMart in blood until the day I die.

I must say though that some of the employees leave alot to be desired. Take Runaway Boy for instance. Dude rings up the guy in front of me, bags him up and gets him on his way. My things are clearly on the conveyor belt as is the persons' behind me. This idiot turns his key in the register, takes it out and walks away. HE WALKS AWAY! Not so much as an "I'll be back in a minute" or anything. The people in line and I look at each other in disbelief. Another person seeing this jumped on the register and rung us out. Ass!

Then there are the "Greeters". Aren't they just the most cheerful bunch you've ever met? Half of the time they conveniently turn their head away as to not have to "greet" me. Like they all of a sudden remember some task they are supposed to be doing. Dude, your one and only job is to stand there and say, "Welcome to WalMart." That's it!

Then in a instant that same "greeter" turns into "RoboGreeter". I took one of the motorized carts out to the curbside one day to put my mother in so she could ride around the store because she can not walk...at all. I get out the door and to the curb and RoboGreeter runs out (the same one who did not "greet" me upon my first entrance into the store) and yells, "You can't take the cart outside the store!" I said, "Whoa...hold on Hoss. I'm putting my mother into the cart." He looks at me holding onto my mothers arm and turns around and walks back into the store. Idiot.

Even with all their "delightful"employees, I still love me some WalMart. God help me.

i really like walmart too! My favorite greeters are the dry old ones that say "welcome to walmart" without making eye contact in a monotone voice. mean little old greeters!

I rarely if ever get greeted at Wal-Mart. I thought it was just me. Wal-Mart's alright. But I'm a Target girl ... especially a Super Target girl! :)

There are some things that can only be shopped for at Wal-Mart. Other than those few items, I avoid it like the plague. We have a Meijer here which is amazing! And like Karyn, I love me some Target. But ours isn't a super.

The employees do leave alot to be desired though. Toothless hillbillies.

and those are some of the reasons I don't like that store. Though I still shop there because you just can't beat the prices and I have a big family! I deleted my other comment on accident it said the first line!

I shop at Walmart -don't dislike it the way some folks do. Around here, it's virtually the ONLY store that carries just about everything, otherwise, we'd have to travel 40-45 miles one way to get stuff, so we get the bulk of our groceries there, except for meats. I watch the local grocery store (whose other prices are often outrageous) for sales on their meats, which is usually very nice stuff.
My big bitch with Walmart is that they have completely stopped carrying any embroidery stuff at all, cut back a lot on their yarns and their fabric department now is absolutely the pits! So, for most of those things, I end up making the 40-45 mile one-way trip anyway but I keep those jaunts to a dull roar!

I like Walmart too, I know plenty of people who can't stand Walmart for various reasons, but they have cheap prices and a good selection of things, what more can you ask for?

Jeni left a comment about Walmart not selling crafting supplies, I had heard most of the Walmarts were no longer selling craft supplies and going to expand on their party and card supplies. Our local Walmart still sells crafting stuff, but we are lucky to have a lot of close crafting stores like Joanns, Hobby Lobby and so on.

I agree though, some people are just not meant to work in retail and around the public!

I'm not much for Wall Mart but I must admit when I was in Acapulco it felt like home.

We had two years of being sequestered away from Walmart a few years ago(lived on an island in the middle of the Atlantic) and when we returned, we stood in the aisles trying to make that angelic chorus sound "Ahhhhhhhhh". The place gave me a headache-- too much to look at all at once. It was definitely a culture shock experience.
The greeter was kind enough to tell me that it was careless to turn my back on my purse in the cart :-)

the good and the bad it is a toss up.

Jeni: My Walmart completely got rid of the fabric section.

My beefs? The entrance doors are mislabeled, so you enter on the left and the exit is on the right. That's backwards. People keep bumping into the doors becuuse you are barred from entering on the right like you are supposed to.

The grocery section is in an alcove lined with wet plywood and seems to be missing adequate lighting. Think "garage sale".

I wouldn't say that I LOVE WalMart, however, I shop there every week for groceries. I can't beat the prices!! My mom is one of these WalMart haters so she gets all over me about it but meh. I save like $40 a trip. The haters can start giving me $40 every week if they want to get up on that soapbox with me. HA

"One and only job..." I laughed out loud on that one. You would think given the job market, they'd not only be on point, but cheerfully all over it.

I can't say that I'm a Wal-Mart fan (but you won't see any hate mail from me). I'm partial to Target. In Colorado, they don't bother to greet. Target just gets our the way and let's me do my business.

I love walmart, but not my walmart. My walmart is ghetto with no greeters and a very scary clientel. Now when I drive 20 minutes down the road I'm in heaven. :) Oh and yeah.....ASS is right!! what a tool.

Hysterical happenings for sure!

I started my love affair with Wal-Mart out of necessity a couple of years back.

I know this might sound like I have issues but, here goes.

I had a cashier to take my clothes off the hanger and put the fabric under her chin while she folded it up.

That shit pissed me off so much, I told her to void that item off. I have NO idea why that set me off but, it did. I just couldn't understand why she would put my garment under her neck to fold it.

Whatever happened to stuffing my stuff in the bag like the rest of them?

Nevermind. I sound crazy! LOL
