Wrapping My Brain Around Everything

So I've mentioned before that I am making my way to Atlanta. Well, I am really wrapping my brain around this whole thing. I've already made plans to make my first trip down there the last week in July to scout out some nice apartments.

I've already given some thought to finding a job or business opportunity now as opposed to waiting until the last minute.

I'm feeling really good about things right now actually. I can't wait until I'm actually down there starting my new life. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I'm so anxious I'm wishing my life away.

Yesterday was an interesting day. It was my mothers birthday plus I had to visit my mom's lawyer to discuss some things. My middle brother called me and my youngest brother to check up on us since we all had mom on our minds. That was very sweet of him.

I have a couple of girlfriends that keep asking me if I've met anyone or gone out with anyone and I keep telling them no. I am not interested in meeting anyone right now. I keep telling them I don't want to start something I can not finish. My main focus is making my move happen and all the logistics that's involved in that.

I've never moved from one state to another on my own and I am realizing all the details that go into a move of this nature. It's exciting and scary but I can not wait!

Watch out life...here I come!!!

Now I will say that your on the right track as far as getting the aptartment and a job first. Atlanta has alot to offer for people that have things to offer Atlanta. AKA a degree, or experience. And I hear there are alot of jobs. Be careful though there are nice places in Atlanta and then there are place that you wouldn't want to go. I've moved to several differen't states on my own. I just find that my home state is the easiest place to live. Prolly because I know all the ins and outs.

Good luck to you on this! I've pondered the idea of moving from Miami many many many times! If I found the right job and place to live I'd be gone YESTERDAY. Step out on faith and do well!

I am the queen of the interstate move! Born and raised in Ohio, but I've lived in Iowa, Arizona, Maryland, California and North Carolina. If you need some tips, holler at your girl!

Moving is a very stressful time in ones life. I moved 200 miles north 9 years ago, just me and my daughter who was then 18 months old. I was nervous back then.

Enjoy the changes you are making; challenges are a wonderful way for us to learn about life.

Congratulations on your new life ! I am so happy for you !

I understand that you don't feel like going out with anyone new.
I have been romantically closed off for a while now, and no matter how much I try, I just can't bring myself to open up to the idea of dating, especially since I know that it probably wouldn't last. One step at a time.

I've moved several times over the years. First time, was to St. Louis -only stayed there for four months before I left there and moved to D.C. From D.C. after 8 years there, I moved back to central PA -home, ya now -and other than a couple moves here from one small town to a little village to my home village, I've kept a homebase here ever since 1972. However, in 1994, I did move to Baltimore, worked there a year and then came back home and in 2002, I moved (temporarily) to Harrisburg from May thru September and then, back to my home base. But only the moves from D.C. back to Pa and the short moves around here in PA involved moving EVERYTHING -clothes, memorabilia and furniture/appliances, etc. And baby, moving all those things is a royal pain in the arse! Bad enough just moving basics of clothes, ya know!
But do lots of research on job availability and also, on housing. It will help you a lot to get much more familiar with your new locale.
