Never Again!

I’m sure we’ve all been out and about in our respect cities and come across a homeless person. We have mixed feelings about seeing this individual but because this is a regular occurrence throughout the world so we shake it off and move on.

Sometimes, we may even be moved enough to give them some of our hard earned cash.

Can I tell you after a couple of experiences I’ve witnessed I can say in all sincerity….To hell with them all!!!!!!

Most of them are some scheming bastards! Case in point:

Example #1: My boyfriend (The Analyst) and I were patronizing a local eatery when we were approached by a dirty, sweaty homeless gentleman. He, in a very pitiful tone, asked for money to get something to eat. The Analyst told this guy that he would buy him food instead. The guy was agreeable to this but it was obvious that was not the response he was hoping for. While The Analyst was inside of the restaurant purchasing our food the homeless guy continued to harass patrons as they entered the parking lot asking for money. When The Analyst came out and gave the man his food he just looked at the bag, reached out to receive it then walked to the far side of the building and laid in on the ground and proceeded to continue begging the patrons! This pathetic little bastard didn’t want any food….his ass wanted money for alcohol and/or drugs.

Example #2: The Analyst and I were entering the parking lot of a drug store. As he exited the car a woman approached him and asked for money to get on the bus as she was stranded and had no other way home. Being the kind hearted soul that he is; The Analyst gave this woman bus fare. He proceeded to the drug store, purchased his items then returned to the car. As we were leaving the parking lot we witness this shyster approach two other gentlemen and asked them for money for the bus as well! What the hell!!

People are scammers and it’s pathetic. You ignorant bastards aren’t getting any money from me from now on.

I could have sworn I saw one of their asses get into his Mercedes and drive off. Hmmmmmmmmmm……Would it be wrong for me to go up to homeless people and ask them for a dollar?

Bastards!

UPDATE: The scammers make it bad for the ones that REALLY need the help. There are those that seriously need assistance.

I totally know what you mean!!!!! They are such scammers.

Although the scammer observations are hard to dispute, my disinterest in handing out money is that I work hard for my cash!

After all the bills and things, there's not often money left over to "throw it away."

While there are many cases of mental illness in the homeless, there are too many programs available to them that make me want to part with my money... No thank you.

Sometimes people think I'm cold blooded when I say that homeless people are opportunists...but, it's totally true most of the time!!! Your post was so refreshing! :)

I was watching Date Line one night and they showed this homeless man asking for money at an off ramp. He later went to his Benz and went home. He was not even homeless, he figured out he could make several hundred dollars a day just asking for money. What a loser!!

I remember going through the Sacramento bus station once. I was standing outside smoking for about 20 minutes. A homeless guy came up and asked for a smoke. I gave him one. Within the next few minutes I had four more ask.

LOL... at your last word...hahaha, sorry, but on a serious note; It's crazy how people will do whatever to get over on a person and WHY? just because ...it's such a sad state we're in. I like the tone of your page (all that pretty pink...lol) and thanks for the visit.

I really have too much to say on the subject and should write stuff on my own blog when I have the time.

But I'm not giving them any money either.

There was talk of a voucher program for a while, but I don't remember what happened with it.

Charity begins at home. I make sure I help out my friends and family whenever I can, so they don't end up in that situation. I feel that people who do, must have done something PRETTY bad to end up that way.

they did this surveillance in south florida and nabbed one guy- he was making over 100k a year by begging and would walk a mile from his 'spot' to his bmw car. I always wonder but you know it just makes you a skeptic when you hear of stuff like this.

so hard to know the difference sometimes...i always want to believe the best in people...apparently like The Analyst...i've only given once...while i was in vegas on vacation...not something i normally have to deal with in map dot, ks...

my only up close and personal experience is with my brother (RIP) who was homeless for a time...as far as i know he never begged for his money, but that doesn't mean he didn't...i do know i never gave him money because it more than likely would have gone to drugs...

Unfortunately, I think most of them are not really needy. I remember a Houston reporter tried it out for a year & made $75k.

It is the ones with mental & psychological issues that I feel sorry for. I have had a few ask me for leftovers after leaving a restaurant though & I always gladly give them food.

i used to live in a town where you couldn't walk a block without being hit up by panhandlers. it made me very sad and also, frustrated, for many of the reasons you list here. i try to give a smile instead and then donate to my local homeless shelter.

Yup, Yup and Yup...I agree with all of it. Don't they have any pride at all I wonder...

I totally agree that it's hard to seperate the ones who really need it from those who are just trying to scam you. Being that I myself was homeless for a hort period of time, I'm the wrong one for them to step to askin for money. Like the Analyst, if they ask for money for food, I'll gladly buy them a hamburger. If they ask me for money just because, I direct them to the Temp service that hires people for a day of work...clean up, factory, etc...and tell them to go make their own damn money. If I could do it for 3 months while being 6 months pregnant, damnit they can too.

Great Post Diva...thanks for stoppin by my spot...and I'll definately be back!
