Why Do Divorced Men Fear Remarriage?

There have been several occasions in the past when I’ve had conversations with divorced men about their desire to ever remarry. For some reason most of those men said they had absolutely no desire to ever get remarried again. What in the sam hill is that about? LOL

Are divorced men so jaded by their past marriage that their first inclination is to scream a resounding “Hell no!” when talking about marriage again. Men…is it really that bad?

Hell, I’m divorced and I never had the attitude that I would never try it again nor do most of the divorced women I know.

Hmmmmm…it makes you wonder sometimes.

well...i have divorced friends and I am divorced as well, none of us feel that way. I can't answer for those brothas, but I look forward to the ability to be a husband again. I enjoyed the "covenant of marriage".

good post though ma'am.

Those same guys are probably the same ones who are afraid to do anything they failed at. I don't think every guy is like that BUT they probably just enjoy their newly rediscovered bachelor status.

lol, but that's because women will expose the truth of their heart MANY times over...we'll subject it to being broken OVER AND OVER AGAIN... where most men's pride keeps them from getting hurt TWICE..

I seem to find most men find when they've been hurt, they don't want to risk it again.

But on the OTHER hand, I find divorced men hook up with girlfriends a lot quick than their female ex's do!

No matter how long I live, and how many relationships I'm in and how many boys I meet, the more I realize that men and women are totally different, they want different things and frankly I don't understand how anyone stays married or even gets married - Ever!

hmmm...honestly girl i think it rolls both ways...since my divorce i've said i was 'retired'...that there would be no more trips down the aisle for me...lately i've been rethinking that, but i had that attitude for a long time...

on the other hand, my good friend K (a guy) who has been divorced about the same amount of time wants nothing more than to find the right woman for him and do it again...

Yep, Divorced men are quick to say "never again" at least some of my divorced friend have spouted such. But then again, it really comes down to diff strokes for diff folks, if marriage is not your cup of tea, then they will just do the GF/BF thing, without the financial commitment.

It's like when a gay person says I think I'm going back to girls/guys... I have gay friends and they totally say this. Same thing???

There are a lot of bitches out there. My husband only drives me crazy b/c he acts like a frat boy. At least, he is not moody. :)

Look, I was married 25 years... no lying, no cheating, no drug abuse (by me anyway). None of that soured me on getting remarried... what did was the family law system, alimony, visitation, parental alienation gone unpunished, etc. Why would any man who has been through the legal system get married? Only one reason I can think of - slow learner. I won't invite the legal system into my life via marriage ever again - I'm a one-trial learner.

I second what anonymous said. The legal system is absolutely slanted as a million dollar lottery for women. when men get primary custody 50% of the time, and women pay 50% spousal support to men, then the odds are even and many more men will "try it" again.

once bitten twice shy.
